Buena Vista Farms was once a cattle pasture and homestead. The farm passed to heirs and sold to the Gutierrez family in 2000. They had just returned from Santa Cruz, Bolivia, South America, where they developed an environmental company and lived on a cattle ranch near a small town, Buena Vista, named for the “beautiful view” coming down a mountain, overlooking the valley town. Nestor continued working in Bolivia, commuting, until 2005.
The first step in our vision was to carve a pond where an overgrown ditch had eroded. Fingers of the large 4-acre pond wrapped around a point of land, where ground was broken in spring 2005 for a quaint building with a gorgeous view, “The Lodge”. The “Barn”, for larger events, was complete in 2006. The “Bin” was completed in 2008 for huntsmen events.
We are thrilled to welcome you to Buena Vista Farms, with beautiful views of the pond, woods and abundant wildlife. A peaceful setting, away from city lights, is star-filled, and quiet, relaxing around a bon fire. Formal gardens and pond offer photo settings, spots to sit and relax, hike or play outdoor games for casual celebrations and reunions. Two buildings, pergola, and tents, offer elegant settings for outdoor or indoor weddings. Productive and fun business meetings take place with a variety of team building events, including a 12 station sporting clay shooting.
